Only about ten minutes north of Santa Fe you'll find the charming village of Tesuque. The name itself is a Spanish version of the native Tewa name, "Te Tesugeh Oweengeh", meaning the "village of the narrow place of the cottonwood trees." People young and old alike live here and share the simple lifestyle the village offers.
Although Tesuque is not large town, here you will most likely find some of the best real estate in Santa Fe. The area has many large lots of land, and many beautiful and spacious homes. Several of these homes, in fact, have rich historic value and feature a tranquil culture appropriate for the area.
Another draw of the village is the centuries-old Tesuque Pueblo. Historical evidence has indicated that the pueblo has existed in Tesuque since 1200 A.D.. This landmark is such a special place to Santa Fe, that it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
